So honored and excited to be in the top 10 again for the New Yorker Blown Covers contest. the theme was "The Gays”

Françoise Mouly and Nadja Spiegelman created the Blown Covers site. It is such fun to see all the submissions and behind the scenes of what goes into the New Yorker covers. Her comments on my image were:

A beautiful, sensual image. A woman’s face is the quintessential magazine cover, so these two women work well here. I like that they’re about to kiss, so it makes you anticipate the next moment. The women feel both abstract and specific.

I am a rose fanatic. Anything rose. Flowers, oil, candles, soap and of course, lotuon and cream. I've tried to talk this wonderful local herbalist who makes the best rose cream into letting me do her labels for years - but she is happy with her simple ( and nice ) label. So now - she sold me her cream and now i put my own lable on it! Picked up the first batch today. Super excited. Getting labels made in next few days!
